Reigate "mini" Dance Workshop Shows
The RSB Reigate Dance Schools perform their "BIG" show bi-annually, but we are introducing the "mini" shows this year, highlighting all our non-syllabus classes - mini, junior and senior street dance and modern dance classes, contemporary classes, our new acro classes (including our even newer Acro Troupe class), musical theatre singing / dancing and acting classes and of course our highlight performances with Pasha and the Royal Albert Hall.
The "mini" shows will not include toddlers, tap or ballet classes as many of these have been preparing for their exams this year, and so developing their technique. However many of these pupils do multiple dance disciplines and will be involved in the other dance styles above.
So why have a mini show? Firstly, it gives our non-syllabus classes something to work towards in the "non" show year, but without the added expense of having to buy costumes. These mini dance shows are in a workshop style and low-key (although we promise their performances will be anything but low-key)!
Secondly, it allows all new pupils to perform in their first year of joining the school, and provides yet another performance opportunity for all our pupils. We are all about growing the confidence and developing children's dance at Reigate Dance Centre, and we hope these shows will continue to be a regular performing event in our already busy calendar.
Other shows during this time include our popular schools initiative theatre arts project - CLASS ACT and for the first time a collaboration with Reigate St Mary's School to form a joint 1-night show. All shows are at the Harlequin Theatre in Redhill.
We will post a blog about each show later.
For now, good luck to all our children who will be dancing at this year's shows - the team at Reigate Dance Centre are extremely proud of you all.
