Acro Dance classes in Reigate and Merstham

Acro Dance combines the physicality of dance and acrobatics through the world renowned Acrobatic Arts syllabus. Our acro classes start from the very beginning and does not require previous gymnastics experience, and we greatly encourage pupils to combine our acro course with another dance discipline such as street dance, modern jazz, contemporary or ballet. This acro course introduces improved flexibility and extra skills required for the commercial dancer and focuses on the acro from a dancer's persepctive - it's also GREAT FUN!

SO WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ACRO DANCE and GYMNASTICS?

To put it plainly, acro dance puts the emphasis on dance, with the acro element as an added extra to compliment the choreography. Dancers are also expected to execute their moves on a hard floor (although we perform on mats in class), where gymnasts mainly perform on mats.

In the early stages, our acro classes improve flexibility, coordination, balance and strength in every child which then helps children perform with more range of movements in their dance classes.
